CRC's 40th Birthday Bash will raise funds to provide critical assistance to San Diego County’s most vulnerable children and families. For 40 years, Community Resource Center has worked to help those in our community who are hungry, homeless and hurting.

The evening will feature:

  • Appetizers, hosted drinks and a delicious three-course dinner and hosted beer and wine
  • Surprise Birthday prizes, live auction, fun & games
  • Live auction prizes, including a trip to San Francisco, Surf Club tickets to the Farmers Open, La Costa Staycation and more!

Honoring Champions of the Cause

Evelyn Weidner: A former Board member, Evelyn has supported CRC for decades and was instrumental in developing fundraising events to connect the community to our mission. Many in the community still recall “Polynesian Nights” at Weidners’ Gardens!

Laurin Pause: As Executive Director from 2004 to 2014, Laurin led CRC to develop model programs in the county, providing those in need with safety, stability and a path to self-sufficiency. CRC’s accomplishments during this period include the construction of Carol’s House, our domestic violence shelter, and expansion of hunger and homelessness prevention services.

Shea Homes: In 2004, Shea Homes and its partners donated the labor and materials to complete the construction of Carol’s House in less than a month. Since then, over 3,650 people, including 2,700 children, have found a safe haven there to transition to healthier, happier and safer lives.
